Joining the Company

City Garage is a true ensemble. All casting is done strictly within the company. Members do not pay dues. Members learn the technique and unique style of the theatre every 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month in a workshop that runs from noon to three o'clock. The workshop consists of a combination of original exercises and intense scenework. Working with other members of the company, actors prepare scenes from plays under consideration for future production. The scenes are then commented on by Artistic Director Frédérique Michel. The workshop is not an acting class, but a home for serious actors who are not afraid to take risks.

General auditions are held once or twice a year but individual auditions can also be scheduled. Auditions consist of one 2-3 minute monologue of the actor's choice (no original pieces, please) followed by a short interview with the Artistic Director.
